Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar called the volumes of bilateral trade reaching $66 bln impressive

NEW DELHI, November 12. /TASS/. Indian authorities fully support Russia’s growing interest in India’s economic potential, the republic’s Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said at a plenary meeting of the Russian-Indian intergovernmental commission.

"We fully welcome and support Russia’s growing interest in consideration of the economic potential in India," he said, adding that the two countries’ economies "not only complement each other, but also enjoy mutual confidence."

The Indian minister called the volumes of bilateral trade reaching $66 bln impressive. "Our goal is to make it more balanced, which will require the lifting of current restrictions and adoption of more serious support measures," he stressed.

"We note Russia’s growing interest in our Make in India program and we will encourage joint ventures and other cooperation forms," Jaishankar said.
