Abrau-Durso to produce up to 6 mln liters of sparkling drinks a year in India by 2026

NEW DELHI, November 11. /TASS/. Russia’s Abrau-Durso winery, which has begun producing sparkling drinks in India jointly with Indian partners, intends to produce up to 6 million liters of products per year by 2026, the press service of the group’s main owner and shareholder Boris Titov told TASS. Titov took part in the Russian-Indian business forum held in Mumbai.
Earlier it became known that Abrau-Durso, together with its Indian partner Minchy’s, began producing sparkling wine under the Tsar Collection brand. The full contract batch will include cocktails with two flavors - Lambrusco and Muscat.
"By 2026, production should reach 6 million liters per year," the press service reported. The first batch is 10 thousand bottles.
"Low-alcohol sparkling drinks with the addition of natural fruit juices are produced in the city of Shimla in the foothills of the Himalayas in northern India," Abrau-Durso added.
As the company noted, the participants of the business forum in Mumbai were able to taste the new drinks, highly appreciating the new products and expressing "support for the development of an export project related to the establishment of local production of drinks in India."
"As part of the forum, in addition to the first samples of low-alcohol drinks, the Russian company Abrau-Durso presented Chameleon gin and other drinks to its Indian colleagues," the press service added.
The Russian-Indian business forum was held in Mumbai with the participation of Russia’s First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov and Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
Abrau-Durso is a leading producer of sparkling and still wines in Russia. The company offers collections from vintners Abrau-Durso, Vedernikov Winery, Loza, Sheki Sharab and other wineries, as well as other alcoholic beverages, including liqueurs, gins, vodkas, bitters (herb liqueurs) and cognacs. The main shareholder of the company is the Russian President’s special envoy for relations with international organizations, Boris Titov. Since April 2012, the company's shares have been listed on the Moscow Exchange.
