Wine imports to Russia fall 1.5-fold in 10 months to 357,700 tons

MOSCOW, November 8. /TASS/. Wine imports to Russia from January to October 2024 decreased 1.5-fold year-on-year to 357,700 tons, Head of the Main Directorate of Federal Customs Revenue and Tariff Regulation of the Federal Customs Service Maksim Chmora said.

"Over 10 months of this year, 33% less products were imported in physical terms," he said.

According to the Federal Customs Service, wine imports to Russia in January-October 2024 amounted to 357,700 tons compared to 532,400 tons in the previous year. The largest volume of wines was imported from Italy (29%), Georgia (25%), Spain (10%), Portugal (5%), and France (5%). At the same time, Chmora noted that Georgia's share in imports to Russia increased from 17% to 25%.

The report also noted that in the first 10 months of 2024 Russian wine exports increased by 20% compared to the same period last year and reached 1,680 tons. Russian wine was mainly delivered to China (48%). Turkey (14%), Abkhazia (13%), Latvia (11%), and Israel (3%) were also among the top five destinations.
