SOCHI, November 7. /TASS/. The United States has received $12 trillion in recent years owing to the dollar role as the global currency, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the Valdai Discussion Club.

"The United States received for no apparent reason $12 trillion over the last decade, on account of issuing and giving. These funds then go as a rule to their banks, to their financial system, and also clipping coupons, having gains from that," Putin noted.

Putin urged the US to share dollars from the issue and give a portion of them for the climatic agenda. "Let you then share these revenues [from the dollar issue] falling out of the sky on you [the US], if you are so concerned of the environmental situation," he added.
