MOSCOW, November 6. /TASS/. Sales of new passenger cars in Russia amounted to 171,200 units in October 2024, reaching the highest level in the past 3.5 years, Autostat analytical agency reported.

"In October 2024, 171,200 new passenger cars were sold in Russia. <…> The market reached the volume almost equaling the level of April 2021 (171,500 units), which brings it to a 3.5-year high," the report said.

Meanwhile, the result of October 2024 was 1.5 times higher than in the same period last year.

Five brands account for more than 65% of cars sold in October, including Lada (44,800 units), Haval (23,800 units), Geely (17,200 cars), Chery (15,100 units), and Changan (11,000 cars).

Year-to-date sales of new passenger cars in Russia were up by 60% at 1.3 mln units.
