According to the Chinese government's plan, this airport will become increasingly important

HAIKOU /China/, June 22. /TASS/. Qionghai Boao Airport in the east of Hainan Island has started to serve international flights, Hainan Daily reported.

According to the paper, on June 21, the airport received its first international aircraft. After the airliner from Hong Kong landed, all standard control procedures were followed.

The local border service has stated that the government plans to open regular flights from the city of Qionghai, where the airport is located, to Seoul in the near future. With Hainan's visa-free regime becoming more effective, the number of overseas passenger routes served by Boao is expected to steadily increase.

In light of the expected increase in passenger traffic, the airport administration plans to optimize inspection and customs clearance procedures. To ensure its smooth and efficient operation under the new regime, the authorities have taken a number of preliminary measures and carried out a whole range of preparatory work.

According to the Chinese government's plan, the importance of this airport will increase, and it will stimulate even more dynamic development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
