Hainan’s Haikou concludes fourth China International Consumer Products Expo
More than 4 thousand brands from 71 countries and regions of the world took part in the event
HAIKOU /China/, April 22. /TASS/. The 4th China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE), which was held in Hainan Province from April 13 to 18, has become a platform for exchanging opportunities between PRC and the rest of the world, Hainan Daily reported.
According to the newspaper, when compared to the 1st Hainan Expo which was held in 2021, this year's expo was much larger in size, the number of participating brands, exhibitors and buyers. The article highlighted that everyone who attended the expo was able to experience the vitality of China's consumer market. More than 4 thousand brands from 71 countries and regions of the world took part in this year's exhibition, including both “old friends” of the exhibition, such as Estée Lauder, and new participants, such as Mitsubishi.
The 4th China International Consumer Products Expo continued to adhere to the principle of exhibiting high-quality products and novelties, inviting major international brands to introduce new and unique products, and creating an open platform for exchanging opportunities between the PRC and the world.
Hainan Daily quoted a representative from Thailand's TCP Group as saying that participating in the expo allowed the company to get a deep insight into the huge potential of China's consumer market and new consumption trends. According to the company employee, it helps brands to innovate and produce high-tech products to better meet the needs of Chinese consumers.
A representative of the Irish Embassy in China pointed out that the Hainan Expo is not just an exhibition but a “communication bridge”. The official noted that more and more Chinese consumers are looking for high-quality goods and the Hainan Free Trade Port can become the main channel for the smooth movement of these goods.
The article also pointed out that CICPE is not only a “bridge” that connects China with the world, but also a “window” through which more people can see the opportunities of Hainan Island. The paper noted that the Expo is actively promoting cooperation between Hainan Province and the member countries of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), among others.
Made in China
In addition to foreign manufacturers, Chinese companies have also been participating in the exhibition year after year: “Made in China” products are becoming more and more attractive, the newspaper wrote. According to a representative of Chinese artificial intelligence development company iFLYTEK, the Hainan Expo is an opportunity to demonstrate the vitality of the Chinese consumer market, as well as the competitiveness and influence Chinese companies have on the world stage.
“We will focus on expanding domestic demand and boosting potential consumption,” Hainan Daily quoted Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Sheng Qiuping as saying. He also noted that the PRC authorities will take full advantage of the China International Consumer Products Expo as the largest consumption expo in the region.

The 4th China International Consumer Products Expo was held from April 13 to 18 at the Hainan International Exhibition Center in Haikou. About 4 thousand brands from more than 70 countries and regions, including Russia, took part in the expo. The total exhibition area of all pavilions amounted to 100 thousand square meters.
The Chinese authorities consider the exhibition to be an important part of their efforts to build a free trade port in Hainan.
