HAIKOU /China/, April 13. /Visitors to the 4th China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE), which is taking place in Haikou (southern Hainan Province), are showing keen interest in food products presented at the Russian Export Center's (REC) joint stand, Anastasia Rastorgueva, General Director of Altan (REC accredited partner), told TASS.

"There is a large number of tasters at the stand, many ask questions about the composition of products. For example, we have milk powder, which is a top product for the Chinese market. Many are interested in whether there is sugar or salt in the ingredients, whether it is completely natural," she said.

Speaking about the Russian stand's successes, Anastasia Rastorgueva noted a company called Uslada. The confectionery manufacturer managed to get commercial orders as early as at the preparation stage of the exhibition.

The stand offers visitors an opportunity not only to taste the products, but also to buy them, TASS observed. Anastasia Rastorgueva clarified that the range of products will be refreshed as the sales continue. "There are certain products on these days and different products on other days. There are about 18 companies in total," she told.

"The companies we present are mostly from Bashkortostan, Samara, the Moscow region, Altai Krai, the Republic of Khakassia and Krasnoyarsk Krai," she said, adding that many companies participate in the exhibition with the help of export support centers, chambers of commerce and industry associations.

The 4th China International Consumer Products Expo kicked off on Saturday featuring more than 4,000 brands from more than 70 countries and regions around the world, including Russia. The event will be held from April 13 to 18 at the Hainan International Exhibition Center in Haikou. The total area of all pavilions will amount to 100 thousand square meters. meters. The exhibition is expected to be visited by about 55 thousand professional buyers.

Chinese authorities see this expo as an important part of their efforts to build a free trade port on Hainan. The project implementation program envisages turning the island into a special customs zone.
