Lithuania will never return to importing Russian energy resources — President
It is reported that Europe's energy security should be based on green energy
VILNIUS, April 10. /TASS/. Lithuania, which has completely abandoned the use of Russian energy resources, will never return to purchasing them from Russia, President of the Baltic country, Gitanas Nauseda, said at the international forum on energy security issues, which is held in Vilnius.
"Lithuania, which stopped importing gas, oil and electricity from Russia back in 2022, will never return to this. We cannot even imagine this theoretically," he said.
According to the president, there were statements in Europe at that time that the West could not survive without Russian energy resources.
"Another winter has passed. We are alive and well," Nauseda noted.
In his opinion, Europe's energy security should be based on green energy.
"Ensuring energy security will be facilitated by the production and supply of green energy at affordable prices, which is what we need to strive for," the Lithuanian President said.
