OGK-2 increases electricity output by 19.1% in Q1
Growing steam consumption by industrial consumers was the main reason for the increase in the figure
MOSCOW, April 9. /TASS/. Generating company OGK-2 (part of Gazprom Energoholding) generated 16.8 bln kWh of electricity in January - March 2024, which is 19.1% more than the figure for the same period in 2023, the company said in a statement.
The change in production volumes was due to an increase in demand for generating equipment, the company said.
Thermal energy output reached 1.975 mln Gcal, which is 5.7% more than a year earlier. Growing steam consumption by industrial consumers was the main reason for the increase in the figure.
OGK-2 is a thermal generation company, which includes 12 branches with a total installed capacity of about 16.3 GW. The main activities of the company are the production and sale of electrical and thermal energy.
