Vietnam supports cooperation with Russia in oil and gas sphere — prime minister
Pham Minh Chinh ordered ministries and agencies to consider the progress in implementing agreements on cooperation signed by leaders of the two countries
HANOI, April 8. /TASS/. Cooperation in the fuel and energy sector makes an important contribution to relations between Vietnam and Russia, Prime Minister of Vietnam Pham Minh Chinh said at a meeting with CEO of Zarubezhneft Sergey Kudryashov, the Vietnam News Agency reported.
Vietnam is always supporting and creating conditions for promotion of cooperation between the two countries in the oil and gas sphere, based on principles of mutual benefit and sharing of risks, the Prime Minister said. Pham Minh Chinh expressed firm support of expediting resolution of difficulties and problems within the framework of existing bilateral relations between Zarubezhneft and Petrovietnam corporation. He ordered ministries and agencies to consider the progress in implementing agreements on cooperation signed by leaders of the two countries, including the oil and gas industry, and include this item into the agenda of the forthcoming meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade-economic and research and scientific cooperation.
In his turn Zarubezhneft CEO confirmed that the Russian side desires to continue developing partner relations with Vietnam in various spheres, particularly in the economy, trade and investments, including the fuel and energy sphere. Zarubezhneft intends to expands interaction with Vietnam in new area also, including development of marine wind energy segment, the chief executive added.
