Azerbaijan supplies 3.2 bcm of gas to Europe in Q1 — Energy Ministry
According to the Ministry of Energy, Azerbaijan's gas production in the Q1 of 2024 was 12.6 bcm, slightly more than the same period last year
BAKU, April 8. /TASS/. Azerbaijan exported 6.4 bln cubic meters (bcm) of gas in January - March, with half of it (3.2 bcm) going to Europe, the press service of the country’s Ministry of Energy announced on Monday.
"Azerbaijan's gas exports from January to March 2024 totaled 6.4 bcm, matching the same period last year, including 3.2 bcm (50% of total exports) supplied to Europe, 2.3 bcm (35.9%) - to Turkey, and 0.9 bcm (14.1%) - to Georgia," the ministry said.
According to the Ministry of Energy, Azerbaijan's gas production in the Q1 of 2024 was 12.6 bcm, slightly more than the same period last year.
In 2023, Azerbaijan exported 23.8 bcm of gas, about half of which (11.8 bcm) went to the European market. The Ministry of Energy estimated that the export volume for 2024 will reach 24 bcm.
On December 31, 2020, Azerbaijan launched commercial gas shipments to Europe through the Trans Adriatic Pipeline, part of the Southern Gas Corridor. Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, and Serbia are among the European countries that import Azerbaijani gas.
