CISINAU, April 2. /TASS/. Russia will be able to continue gas supplies to Transdniestria bypassing Ukraine, Energy Minister of Moldova Victor Parlicov said.
"Gas can be supplied in required quantities to the region of Transdniestria over the Trans-Balkan gas pipeline or from Russia. However, such decision should be made by authorities of Russia and Transdniestria," the minister said in an interview with Moldova 1 television. The transit can be supported by Moldovagaz or by another company, he noted.
Moldova previously switched to other gas suppliers amid the shortage of Russian gas. At the same time, the country is importing electric power generated from Russian gas in Transdniestria at low prices.
