Capacity of Russian seaports may grow by 2.9% to 1.4 bln tons by end of 2024
According to Acting head of Rosmorrechflot Boris Tashimov, the total increase in capacity in the seaports of Murmansk, Ust-Luga, Vladivostok, and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky will reach 44 mln tons by the end of 2024
MOSCOW, March 28. /TASS/. The Federal Agency for Sea and Inland Water Transport (Rosmorrechflot) forecasted an increase in the capacity of Russian seaports by 2.9% by the end of 2024 to 1.4 bln tons, acting head of Rosmorrechflot Boris Tashimov said on Thursday.
Taking into account production plans for 2024, "we predict that we will exceed the 1.4 bln tons mark by the end of the year," he said.
Tashimov added that by the end of 2024, the total increase in capacity in the seaports of Murmansk, Ust-Luga, Vladivostok, and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky will reach 44 mln tons.
The capacity of Russian seaports currently surpasses 1.36 bln tons. Last year, the production capacity of the ports increased by 63 mln tons, including due to early completed investment projects in the seaports of Taman and Vanino, he noted.
