Myanmar has plenty of fantastic tourist destinations, Min Aung Hlaing said
MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. Myanmar plans to launch direct flights with Russia to other cities in addition to the ones that already exist to Yangon, Mandalay and Naypyidaw, Myanmar’s Prime Minister Min Aung Hlaing said in an interview with TASS First Deputy Director General Mikhail Gusman.
"Our wish is to create the necessary conditions to bring a greater number of tourists from Russia. Among them is not merely the visa-free travel and organization of direct flights to Mandalay, Yangon and Naypyidaw, but also plans to open new direct flights to other cities. Upgrading airports and other infrastructure will help get these plans implemented," the Prime Minister said.
Myanmar has plenty of fantastic tourist destinations, Min Aung Hlaing said. "Our country is famous for its unique natural beauty and cultural diversity, he noted. "Myanmar has many people who have a good command of Russian and understand Russian culture, which also promotes development of tourism between the two countries," the head of the Cabinet said.
Myanmar is holding meetings among travel companies of the two countries to promote tourism, the Prime Minister noted. "Myanmar Airways International (MAI) is already making direct flights between Myanmar and Russia. Flights are made twice per week. We are confident we will manage to expand cooperation in this area," he added.
