Uranium prices soaring 3-5 times over year — Rosatom

SIRIUS /Federal Territory/, March 26. /TASS/. Natural uranium prices moved up by 3-5 times over year, First Deputy CEO of the Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom Kirill Komarov said at the Atomexpo -2024 forum.
"The year was a milestone one in terms of trends in the market of nuclear fuel and all nuclear materials. The year showed how complex on the one part and how fragile on the other part is the system, in which we are living," the senior executive said. "Prices hiked very significantly during the year," he noted.
Spot prices stood at more than $100 per pound of natural uranium and "about $150-160 per enriched uranium separative work unit," Komarov said. "This is increase by three -four - five times from earlier figures," he stressed.
