Russia has no concerns about Iran returning to oil market — Lavrov
"We have doubled exports of oil products there over the past year and a half," the top Russian diplomat said
MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. Russia does not see any problems with Iran returning to the oil market, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview for the documentary project "Oil" published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"I don’t see any problems with the fact that Iran has restored its legal rights, which provide it with the opportunity to develop by selling oil, receiving revenues, investing the profits," the minister said.
"Within the framework of OPEC+, which includes both Iran and Russia as members, there is a clear understanding of how to negotiate and seek compromises. This mechanism has been working for many years. No one is left out, no one is offended. Moreover, I think the hydrocarbon market will grow," he added.
"China has slowed down its growth rate a little. But if you look at the figures, they are 2-3 times higher than those in many other countries, primarily in the West. India is growing even faster. Therefore, there will be no shortage of consumers. Look at Africa. We have doubled exports of oil products there over the past year and a half," Lavrov said.
According to him, "there are no concerns." "Normal countries, basing their actions on international law, will always find a mutually acceptable balance of interests," Lavrov concluded.
