"I hope that the United States still has some remnants of national pride and will not dance to the tune of [Ukrainian President] Vladimir Zelensky," the top Russian diplomat said

MOSCOW, March 21. /TASS/. Ukraine's proposal to the United States to lower the price cap for Russian oil to $30 per barrel goes beyond all limits and Washington is unlikely to agree with it, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said in an interview for the documentary project "Oil" published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"The other day, I read that Ukraine is attempting to persuade the United States to cut the price cap for Russian oil in half to $30 per barrel. This goes beyond all boundaries, not to mention that the concept of a cap is anti-market and displays a wish to dominate. However, it is telling that the United States is unlikely to follow Ukraine’s lead," he said.

"If only because this could have economic consequences for the US itself and the oil market could react seriously. I hope that the United States still has some remnants of national pride and will not dance to the tune of [Ukrainian President] Vladimir Zelensky," Lavrov said.
