Russian banks eyeing option of opening representative offices in Cuba

MOSCOW, March 15. /TASS/. A number of Russian banks is considering an option of opening their representative offices in Cuba, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko said during the 21st meeting of the intergovernmental Russian-Cuban commission on trade-economic and scientific-technical cooperation.
"Certain Russian banks are eyeing an opportunity of opening their representative offices in Cuba in the near time," Chernyshenko said.
The parties also agreed to bring cooperation in the interbank interaction sphere to a fundamentally new level and the large-scale rollout of the Mir payment system in Cuba became a milestone event in 2023, the deputy prime minister added.
