Cargo turnover of Russian seaports down 1% YOY in 2M 2024 — regulator
The cargo turnover of Russian seaports totaled 139.6 mln metric tons in January - February 2024
MOSCOW, March 12. /TASS/. The cargo turnover of Russian seaports dropped by 1% year on year to 139.6 mln metric tons in January - February 2024, the press service of the Federal Agency of Maritime and River Transport said on its Telegram channel.
"The cargo turnover of Russian seaports totaled 139.6 mln metric tons in January - February 2024. Dry cargo throughput totaled 67.2 mln metric tons (+2% annually). Bulk goods throughput stood at 72.4 mln metric tons (-3.7%)," the Agency said.
The cargo turnover edged down by 4.5% to 15 mln metric tons in ports of the Arctic Basin, by 4% to 42 mln metric tons in ports of the Baltic Basin, and by 3% to 35.2 mln metric tons in ports of the Far Eastern Basin.
At the same time, the cargo turnover gained 3.5% to 46.2 mln metric tons in ports of the Azov-Black Sea Basin and soared by 1.5 times to 1.4 mln metric tons in ports of the Caspian Basin.
