Russian national depository suspends updates on foreign instruments
Codification of Russian securities continues as before
MOSCOW, March 11. /TASS/. The National Settlement Depository (NSD) has suspended updates on foreign financial instruments accepted for servicing because the Association of National Numbering Agencies has restricted the ability of NSD to receive information concerning foreign financial instruments, the Russian depository said.
"NSD suspends provision of services of keeping information up-to-date in NSD information services regarding earlier qualified foreign financial instruments used by Russian market participants, and assistance in assigning ISIN and CFI codes to foreign financial instruments upon requests of market participants," the depository said.
It also noted that updates are suspended for foreign financial instruments accepted for servicing in ISD and for information on the isin.ru website about earlier qualified foreign financial instruments, which are used by Russian market participants.
Details of new foreign financial instruments are provided if there is an opportunity to receive it from sources set forth by Russian laws, including from authorized numbering agencies, NSD informed.
"NSD is performing the work on identifying the action plan in this situation and is coordinating it with the Bank of Russia. As soon as information is available, we will promptly inform market participants," the depository noted.
