Russia exported 47 mln tons of grain from agricultural season start — expert
The export potential is estimated at 70 mln metric tons as of the end of the season "if volumes are accordingly added to the quota," President of the Russian Grain Union Arkady Zlochevsky said
MOSCOW, March 11. /TASS/. Russian grain exports from the start of the current agricultural season (from July 1, 2023) until March 10 totaled 47 mln metric tons, President of the Russian Grain Union Arkady Zlochevsky said at a press conference.
"We exported 47 mln metric tons of grain resources as of March 10. This is a record-breaking volume historically. However, the rate in recent months somewhat lags behind the last-year ones, that is, the rate decelerated. Volumes have been restored recently and we are shipping at a good pace," Zlochevsky said.
The export potential is estimated at 70 mln metric tons as of the end of the season "if volumes are accordingly added to the quota," the expert said. A draft resolution of the government on extra four mln metric tons to the quota is being considered at present, Zlochevsky added.
