MOSCOW, March 6. /TASS/. Prices for mineral fertilizers in Russia remain at the 2022 level, Head of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) of Russia Maxim Shaskolsky said on Wednesday.
"The government created an effective mechanism to increase food production volumes to provide domestic agricultural producers with affordable prices. Prices for mineral fertilizers are at the 2022 level," he said.
During a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in early January, Shaskolsky stated that Russian agricultural producers had been provided with mineral fertilizers in full. According to him, a trade and sales policy has been formed that considers the mechanism for setting fertilizer prices, adjusting such prices, and determining the maximum amount of remuneration for distributors. Such trade and sales procedures have been adopted by the main mineral fertilizer producers, and the Federal Antimonopoly Service oversees their implementation.
According to the Russian Association of Fertilizer Manufacturers, despite the challenging worldwide scenario, the physical weight of the three main types of mineral fertilizers - nitrogen, phosphorus, and high-tech complex fertilizers - rose by 5% in 2022.
