Thermal power plants increased their output by 3.4% year-on-year
MOSCOW, February 28. /TASS/. Electricity production in Russia as of January 2024 reached 118 bln kWh, which is 4.3% higher than the figure for January and 0.7% higher than the figure for December 2023, according to data from the Russian Statistics Service (Rosstat).
Thermal power plants increased their output by 3.4% year-on-year, producing 80.5 bln kWh and remaining the main supplier of electricity to the country's unified energy system.
Nuclear and hydroelectric power plants increased their output by 3.6% and 9.7%, respectively, generating 19.9 bln kWh and 17 bln kWh.
