Russia’s oil output reaches 9.5 mln bpd, stays within OPEC+ deal — Novak
Deputy Prime Minister earlier said that Russia intends to fully fulfill the OPEC+ quota in February
TEHRAN, February 28. /TASS/. Russia currently produces around 9.5 mln barrels of oil per day, which is in line with the OPEC+ agreement, Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters.
"Yes, in accordance with our agreements, understandings, obligations, and voluntary reductions, the volume reaches around 9.5 mln barrels per day," he said.
Earlier, Novak said that Russia intends to fully fulfill the OPEC+ quota in February, despite a decrease in refining amid a number of accidents at refineries.
A number of OPEC+ countries, including Russia, are adhering to voluntary reductions in oil production from the spring of 2023 until the end of 2024. The total reduction is 1.66 mln bpd.
In addition, Saudi Arabia is further cutting production by another 1 mln bpd from July last year until the end of the Q1 of 2024. From January to the end of March this year, Russia deepened the decline in supplies to world markets from 300,000 bpd to 500,000 bpd. Several more OPEC+ countries are cutting production by 700,000 bpd in the Q1 of 2024.
