Russia’s inflation accelerates to 0.13% on February 20-26 against 0.11% week earlier

MOSCOW, February 28. /TASS/. Inflation in Russia on February 20 - February 26, 2024, accelerated compared to the previous week and amounted to 0.13%, according to data from the Russian Statistics Service (Rosstat). A week earlier - from February 13 to 19 - the country reported inflation of 0.11%.
Since the beginning of February, consumer prices in Russia have increased by 0.56%, since the beginning of the year - by 1.42%.
In annual terms, inflation in Russia as of February 26, 2024 (according to calculations using average daily data for this and last year on similar dates) amounted to 7.58%.
At the same time, according to the Ministry of Economic Development, annual inflation in Russia from February 20 to 26 accelerated to 7.58% from 7.57% a week earlier. "For the week from February 20 to February 26, 2024, inflation in the consumer market was 0.13%, year-on-year - 7.58%. The rate of price growth in the food products segment fell to 0.19%. For fruits and vegetables, price growth slowed down to 0.61%, for other food products - remained at the level of last week (0.15%). In the non-food segment, prices remained virtually unchanged in the reporting week (near-zero price decrease of 0.01%). In the service sector, inflation was 0. 3% against the backdrop of changes in prices for air tickets for domestic flights," the ministry said.
