Supplies of Russian pork to China to start on February 29 — watchdog
The General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China authorized pork supplies from Russia in September 2023
MOSCOW, February 28. /TASS/. Supplies of Russian pork to China may start as early as on February 29, 2024, a source in the press service of the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) told TASS.
"The procedure has been completed. Supplies may start as early as tomorrow," the press service said.
The watchdog said earlier that three Russian enterprises producing pork had been permitted to export pork products to China starting February 28, 2024.
The Russian regulator said in September 2023 that the General Administration of Customs of the People's Republic of China had authorized pork supplies from Russia. The decision was made based on the results of a risk assessment and analysis of the state control system for African swine fever (ASF) in Russia.
