Dairy consumption growth to continue in Russia in 2024 — expert
In 2023, gross consumption of dairy products gained 5% and the increase was 3% per capita, Artyom Belov noted
NOVOSIBIRSK, February 28. /TASS/. Dairy products consumption growth will continue in Russia this year, director general of the National Union of Dairy Producers (Soyuzmoloko) Artyom Belov said at the Siberian Dairy Forum.
"Our base forecast for this year is that since the households income growth rate will probably slow down a bit and will total slightly lower than 5%, the incremental growth rate for dairy products will also be somewhat lower accordingly. Nevertheless, we can expect about 2-3% this year," Belov said. According to his report, gross consumption of dairy products totaled 31.2 mln metric tons and it is forecast at about 32 mln metric tons in 2024, he said.
