Paris Arbitration considers Finland’s rejection of Hanhikivi project ungrounded — Rosatom
According to CEO Alexey Likhachev, there is "an opportunity to continue legal proceedings in respect of specific material damage"
MOSCOW, February 26. /TASS/. The Paris Arbitration recognized Finland’s actions in respect of Hanhikivi nuclear power plant project as ungrounded, CEO of Russian state corporation Rosatom Alexey Likhachev said.
"The first stage of hearing ended. The Paris Arbitration recognized actions of our Finnish partners as ungrounded and politically motivated. This provides us with an opportunity to continue legal proceedings in respect of specific material damage then," Likhachev said.
In December 2022, the international Dispute Resolution Board recognized termination of the contract for construction of the Hanhikivi-1 nuclear plant as wrongful. DRB also recognized the refusal of Finland’s Fennovoima to accept work completed by Rosatom’s RAOS Project under the contract as unlawful. The amount of damage will be determined by further proceedings.
