KASPIYSK, February 22, /TASS/. Vegetables harvested in Russian greenhouse gained 5% year on year in 2023 and reached 1.68 mln metric tons, President of the Greenhouses of Russia Association Alexey Sitnikov told TASS.

"We produced 1.6 mln [metric tons] in 2022, and 1.68 mln metric tons" in 2023, Sitnikov said. "Such growth was obtained not merely on account of expanding areas [of greenhouses] but also by improving the yield," Sitnikov said.

Availability of domestically produced cucumbers and champignons increased significantly in Russia over the last several years, he added.
