Tajik banks report suspension of Qiwi Bank’s money transfer system
The Bank of Russia revoked Qiwi Bank’s license on February 21, 2024
DUSHANBE, February 22, /TASS/. Transactions with the Contact money transfer system were suspended in a number of Tajikistan’s banks after the Bank of Russia revoked the banking license of Qiwi Bank, its operator, customer support services of banks told TASS.
"Concerning the Contact system, this system is regrettably not operational here," Amonatbank's support services told TASS.
Support services at Spitamen Bank and the Khumo micro-deposit organization provided the same information to TASS. The Contact money transfer system "is not active," Orionbank’s support service said. The Dushanbe City Bank, where one could previously register to open a Qiwi e-wallet, said that they no longer perform such operations and that the money transfer system is also suspended.
The Bank of Russia revoked Qiwi Bank’s license on February 21, 2024.
