MOSCOW, February 20. /TASS/. The Russian Ministry Energy has prepared a working draft of the energy strategy through 2050 and suggests that it be passed in June, Minister Nikolay Shulginov told a press conference.
"There is a request by the president to draft a strategy through 2050. The working draft of this strategy already exists, we are discussing it with the expert community, we are starting to discuss it with agencies <…>. Our proposal is to reschedule its approval slightly given the upcoming events, the elections, the formation of the government so that it could be approved <…> in June. We are working on that," he said.
Earlier, it was suggested that Russia’s new energy strategy through 2050 be passed in March 2024.
The current version of the energy strategy through 2050 implies that global energy consumption will total around 28% by that time.
