Izhevsk plant to produce up to 50,000 cars per year
Series production of electric vehicles and Largus cars with internal combustion engines will be launched in May 2024
MOSCOW, January 16. /TASS/. The Avtovaz plant in Izhevsk plans to achieve production of 50,000 cars per year, with a twofold increase in the headcount as early as this year, head of Udmurtia Alexander Brechalov said.
Production of a pilot batch of e-Largus electric vehicle started on December 15 of the last year on the site in Izhevsk. Series production of electric vehicles and Largus cars with internal combustion engines will be launched in May 2024.
"Series production of the Lada Largus electric car will be launched this year and our automobile plant will reach volumes of up to 50,000 cars per year. This projects stipulates investments in the economy of our region to the amount over two billion rubles ($22.4 mln)," Brechalov said. The plant intends to achieve such indicators in 2024, he added.
