MOSCOW, January 16. /TASS/. Electricity generation by OGK-2 (part of Gazprom Energoholding) increased by 10.1% in 2023 compared with 2022 to 53.4 bln kWh, Russia’s generating company reported.
The rise in generation was due to an increase in demand for generating equipment, the company said.
Meanwhile, thermal energy generation amounted to 5.235 mln Gcal in the reporting period, up by 1% compared with the previous year, mainly due to growth of industrial consumers’ demand for steam.
OGK-2 is an energy company, comprising 12 branches with total installed capacity of circa 16.3 GW, including Surgutskaya GRES-1, Ryazanskaya GRES, Kirishskaya GRES, Stavropolskaya GRES, Novocherkasskaya GRES, Troitskaya GRES, Cherepovetskaya GRES, Serovskaya GRES, Pskovskaya GRES, Adlerskaya TPP, Groznenskaya TPP, and Svobodnenskaya TPP.
