Price of Brent oil surpasses $80 per barrel, first time since December 27, 2023

MOSCOW, January 12. /TASS/. The price of Brent oil futures contract with March delivery on London’s ICE exceeded $80 per barrel for the first time since December 27, 2023. Brent oil price grew by 2.01% to $80.06 per barrel.
Later during trading, Brent rose by 2.23% to $80.23. At the same time, WTI oil was trading at $74.78 (+1.87%).
Oil prices are rising following reports that on the night of January 12, US and UK armed forces launched strikes against Ansar Allah targets in a number of Yemeni cities, including Sanaa and Hodeidah.
