TOKYO, January 9. /TASS/. Toyota Motor has maintained its lead in the international vehicle sales market for the fourth consecutive year, Kyodo agency reported based on its own estimates.

Toyota has yet to reveal pertinent information for 2023. Meanwhile, according to the agency, the Japanese manufacturer was able to sell 10.22 mln vehicles between January and November of last year. At the same time, Toyota's major opponent, German automaker Volkswagen, sold 9.24 mln vehicles in 2023, cementing the Japanese corporation's dominant position.

Toyota presented a report on December 27 stating that the manufacturer achieved a record annual international production volume of 9.23 mln vehicles between January and November 2023. The previous record was set in 2019, when it produced 9.05 mln vehicles.
