US extends license for operations with Expobank until March 21, 2024

WASHINGTON, December 22. /TASS/. The US Treasury Department has extended the license allowing transactions with Russia’s Expobank until March 21, 2024, according to a statement posted on the website of the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury.
As noted in the document, the license has been extended to allow transactions necessary to wind down the operations of Expobank or other companies in which Expobank directly or indirectly has a stake of 50% or more. In addition, it is permitted to carry out operations necessary to close accounts in Expobank belonging to persons not included in the sanctions lists, as well as to unblock and transfer all funds available to these persons to accounts in other financial institutions that are not subject to sanctions. The license is extended until 00:01 US East Coast time (08:01 Moscow time) on March 21, 2024.
Earlier in December, the US Treasury Department imposed sanctions against Expobank. Inclusion on the sanctions list means freezing assets in the United States and prohibiting American citizens and companies from doing business with those involved.
