Alrosa produces 34.6 million carats of diamonds in 2023 — Yakutia's government
The head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev, positively assessed the results of the company’s work this year
MOSCOW, December 22. /TASS/. Russia's diamond producer Alrosa fulfilled its production plan for diamond production in 2023 by 100%, extracting 34.6 million carats against 35.6 million carats in 2022, the government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) reported with reference to Alrosa CEO Pavel Marinychev.
"Despite the negative external background, the company 100% fulfilled the diamond production plan - 34.6 million carats. This is only slightly lower than last year’s figure (35.6 million carats)," the statement says.
The head of Yakutia, Aisen Nikolaev, positively assessed the results of the company’s work this year.
"The Alrosa group of companies is the largest budget-generating industrial structure in our republic. The company has fulfilled all the main production and planned indicators for 2023," Nikolaev said as quoted in the statement.
"We would like to remind you that this year Alrosa paid dividends to shareholders for the first time in the last two years, and in general, it is expected that the company’s revenues to the republic’s budget will significantly exceed the initial forecasts and last year’s figure," the Yakut government said in a statement.
Alrosa's assets are in Yakutia and the Arkhangelsk Region. The company explores, produces and sales rough diamonds, and makes diamonds and jewelry. The Russian Federation owns 33.03% of Alrosa's shares, Yakutia - 25%, regions of the company's operations - 8%. About 34% of shares are in free circulation.
