Weekly inflation in Russia slowing down to 0.18% — statistics
Inflation totaled 7.23% in annual terms as of December 18
MOSCOW, December 20. /TASS/. Weekly inflation in Russia was 0.18% from December 12 to 18 after being at 0.2% for a week earlier, the Federal Statistics Service (Rosstat) reported.
Consumer prices rose 7.12% from the year beginning and 0.45% from early December.
Inflation totaled 7.23% in annual terms as of December 18.
In the food segment, prices hiked by 4.6% for chicken eggs, 0.6% for canned meat for infants, 0.5% for sausages and frankfurters, 0.4% for frozen fish, butter, sour cream, canned fruits and berries for infants, 0.3% for beef, mutton and rice, and 0.2% for pasteurized milk, curd, dry infant formulas, cheese, rye bread, vermicelli, and cookies.
Prices for fruits and vegetables ticked up by 2.1% in average, including 8.2% for cucumbers, 1.6% for white cabbage, 1.4% for potatoes, 1.3% for onions, 1.2% for carrots, 0.9% for apples, 0.8% for potatoes, 0.7% for beet, and 0.3% for bananas.
At the same time, prices lost 0.6% for chicken meat, 0.5% for granulated sugar, 0.3% for millet and buckwheat, and 0.2% for wheat flour.
