MOSCOW, December 20. /TASS/. Russia’s electricity exports fell to 10 bln kWh in 2023 from 13 bln kWh in the previous year due to a decrease in supplies to China, Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov told the Rossiya-24 TV channel, adding that electricity exports to Kazakhstan rose this year.

"Electricity exports decreased this year compared with last year. In early 2022, there were will supplies to Finland. Exports amounted to around 13.5 bln kWh last year, while this year they roughly equaled 10 bln kWh. Volumes to China dropped due to non-satisfactory energy balance in the east. Exports to Kazakhstan went up," he said.

Meanwhile, Moscow expects the volume of exports to China to recover next year, the minister added.

"I think that energy balance will recover next year. <…> I think supplies to China will recover," he said.
