Spotify noted that all of its services would be unavailable in Russia, although Russia-based users would be able to reactivate their accounts in the user settings function once they are located in another jurisdiction
MOSCOW, December 18. /TASS/. The sole Russian legal entity of the Spotify streaming music service has ceased operations following its formal closure on December 14, according to data from the State Register of Legal Entities.
Spotify LLC was incorporated in Russia on January 13, 2014. On February 6, 2023 the service filed for corporate dissolution. The Sweden-based music service itself stopped operating in Russia on April 11, 2022, "after a thorough analysis of the current situation."
At that time, the company’s website noted that all of its services would be unavailable in Russia, although Russia-based users would be able to reactivate their accounts in the user settings function once they are located in another jurisdiction.
In related news, Cisco Systems LLC, one of the Russian legal entities of Silicon Valley-based network equipment and software producer Cisco, was dissolved effective December 15, after previously engaging in servicing equipment.
Cisco maintains a second legal entity in Russia, Cisco Solutions, which is currently operating in the area of distribution and sales. The company itself decided to exit the Russian market in June 2022 after ending sales in March of last year.
