Oil exports from Russia in 2023 may be lower than macro forecast of 247 mln tons
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said that the figure could be reduced
MOSCOW, December 17. /TASS/. Oil exports from Russia for the current year may amount to less than 247 mln tons, which is lower than the current macro forecast, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak told reporters.
"[Oil exports from Russia for this year] are being clarified in connection with the obligations (additional volumes of reduction in oil supplies in December within the OPEC+ - TASS)," he said, adding that the figure could be reduced.
In March, Russia began to voluntarily reduce oil production by 500,000 bpd from the average February values, at the same time deciding to reduce oil supplies to world markets in August by another 500,000 bpd in addition to the production cuts obligations, and in September began to reduce supplies for 300,000 bpd. This measure was then extended until the end of this year.
In November, Russia decided to deepen the reduction in oil and fuel supplies from the current 300,000 bpd to 500,000 bpd, the measure will be in effect until the end of March 2024.
