MOSCOW, December 15. /TASS/. The share of currencies of unfriendly countries in Russia’s settlements with other states has decreased from 96% to 24%, Speaker of the State Duma (lower house of parliament) Vyacheslav Volodin said.
"It is important that our country is shifting to settlements in national currencies," he said at a plenary meeting. "Comparing 2022 and September 2023, there is definitely progress," Volodin noted, adding that in 2022 "currencies of unfriendly countries accounted for around 96% of mutual settlements, while this September - 24%."
Overall, the lower house of the parliament has passed 33 bills as part of the work on strengthening the country’s financial sovereignty, he stressed.
