NEW DELHI, December 12. /TASS/. Indian investments in Russia amount to about $14 bln, Russian Trade Commissioner in India Alexander Rybas told TASS.

"According to expert estimates, Indian investments in Russia amount to about $14 bln. In turn, accumulated Russian capital investments in India make up about $16 bln," the trade representative said.

"The Indian business community is currently showing great investment interest in the Russian oil and gas and IT sectors," Rybas noted. Indian investors also see investment appeal in the chemicals sector, particularly related to paints and packaging films; the heavy machinery sector, including tractors and machine tools; the food industry, particularly tea processing; diamonds processing; pharmaceuticals; and the medical equipment industry.

The trade turnover between Russia and India reached a record high of $84.8 bln in the period January-September 2023.
