Exports of Russian fish products rises by 13% over 11 months
According to the agency, fishing in Russian consistently grows in catch volume compared to last year
MOSCOW, December 5. /TASS/. Exports of Russian fish products in January - November 2023 in physical terms increased by 13% compared to the same period last year and amounted to 2.1 mln tons, the Federal Agency for Fishery reported.
"The export of fish products for 11 months of 2023 (excluding trade outside the customs area) reached 2.1 mln tons, which is 13% more than the level of 2022. In value terms, the increase was 1% - fish and seafood were supplied abroad for $5.2 bln," the statement said.
According to the agency, fishing in Russian consistently grows in catch volume compared to last year. Furthermore, the country's fish production is increasing. "The increase in export supplies occurs without prejudice to the interests of the domestic consumer - supplies to the domestic market is an absolute priority," the statement said.
At the same time, imports of fish products totaled over 547,000 tons from January to November 2023, a 10% increase over the previous year.
