Chinese shipbuilder sees opportunities in Russia after exit of Western companies

Building refrigerated ships, fishing vessels and refrigerated transport ships with cooling units generating very low temperatures are of the highest interest as potential joint projects with Russian enterprises, Guo Yanhe said

SHANGHAI, December 5. /TASS/. Zhejiang Ningshing Maritime Services Group sees promising opportunities in the Russian market after the exodus of Western companies, Guo Yanhe, head of the China-based shipbuilder’s vessel operations department, told TASS on the sidelines of the Marintec China 2023 exhibition.

"It can be said that this is a good opportunity for us [the departure of Western companies from the Russian market - TASS]," Guo said. Thus far, the company does not have any cooperative projects involving Russia, but is in continuous communications with potential Russian partners, the spokesman noted.

Building refrigerated ships, fishing vessels and refrigerated transport ships with cooling units generating very low temperatures are of the highest interest as potential joint projects with Russian enterprises, Guo said. "Promotion of cooperation with Russia is a very important area for us, especially as regards the sphere of fisheries and refrigerated transport ships," he added.

The Marintec China 2023 exhibition is being held in Shanghai on December 5-8.
