KazTransOil plans to triple transit of Russian oil to Uzbekistan in 2024
In 2019-2022, there was no transit of Russian oil through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan
ASTANA, November 29. /TASS/. KazTransOil plans to triple the transit of Russian oil to Uzbekistan next year from 154,000 tons to 500,000 tons, the company's press service reported.
"The Sanoat Energetika Guruhi company (Republic of Uzbekistan) has submitted an application to KazTransOil JSC for 2024 for the transit of 500,000 tons of Russian oil to Uzbekistan with the possibility of increasing to 1 million tons," said director of the transportation department of KazTransOil Abai Beisembayev, as quoted by the press service.
In this regard, in 2024, the volume of transit of Russian oil through the territory of Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan is expected to increase to 500,000 tons.
In 2023, the expected volume of transit of Russian oil to Uzbekistan through the main oil pipeline system of KazTransOil is 154,000 tons. In January-October 2023, KazTransOil JSC transited 104,000 tons of Russian oil to Uzbekistan.
"KazTransOil JSC transports Russian oil through the territory of the republic of Kazakhstan to the republic of Uzbekistan in accordance with the oil supply schedule approved by the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan. Pumping Russian oil to the republic of Uzbekistan through the main oil pipeline system of KazTransOil JSC began in 2017. Transit volume amounted to 67,900 tons in 2017 and 36,000 tons - 2018," the press service explained.
In 2019-2022, there was no transit of Russian oil through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan.
On October 7, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Uzbek and Kazakh counterparts Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev launched the transit of Russian natural gas through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan through the Central Asia - Center gas pipeline.
KazTransOil is an oil pipeline company of the Republic of Kazakhstan that provides services for the transportation of oil to the domestic market, for transit and for export. KazTransOil is part of JSC NC KazMunayGas. The total length of the main oil pipelines of KazTransOil is 5,400 km.
