Agricultural trade turnover between Russia, South Africa surging in 10M 2023
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, Russian exports to South Africa increased by 90% at the same time, with wheat constituting its basis
MOSCOW, November 28. /TASS/. The trade turnover of agricultural products between Russia and the Republic of South Africa gained 28% year on year in January - October 2023, the Russian Ministry of Agriculture says.
"The Republic is one of the main Russian partners in the African continent. The trade turnover of agricultural produce between the countries moved up by 28%," Deputy Agriculture Minister Sergey Levin said, cited by the ministry.
Russian exports to South Africa surged by 90% at the same time, with wheat constituting its basis. "Russia is the leading exporter of this crop in the international market and can significantly increase its supplies to South Africa," the ministry informed.
Russia is also keeping leading positions in exports of frozen fish and sunflower and is proactively developing supplies of meat, confectionery, soft drinks, pasta, and other products, the ministry added.
