MOSCOW, November 22. /TASS/. Islamabad welcomes Moscow’s participation in the implementation of the TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) gas pipeline project, Pakistan’s new Ambassador to Russia Muhammad Khalid Jamali said in an interview with TASS.

"Our country lacks energy resources. Pakistan would love to join the [projects of] Central Asia, Afghanistan and others. We are not against Russia’s participation in TAPI in any form, in which it could participate. We have no problems with that, and we would like to welcome everything that brings prosperity to our country and the whole region," he said.

TAPI is a 1,735 km long trunk gas pipeline under construction since 2015 with a design capacity of 33 bln cubic meters of fuel per year to supply gas from Turkmenistan's Galkynysh field to Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. The estimated cost of the project is $8-10 bln.
