Russia expects active participation of Turkish business in SPIEF 2024 — Forum director

MOSCOW, November 21. /TASS/. Russia reckons on proactive participation of the Turkish business in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) to be held in June 2024, Forum director Aleksey Valkov told TASS in Istanbul, where the SPIEF presentation took place.
"We expect an increase in the number of forum participants next year. We reckon upon the proactive participation of the Turkish business and authorities in the SPIEF amid growth of the trade volume between Russia and Turkey in recent years. We are definitely open to all new offers. We are actually opening the SPIEF promotion campaign by the presentation we are holding today in Istanbul and hope to have plenty of guests from Turkey," Valkov said.
Results of the SPIEF 2023 give optimism in respect of its future, the Forum director said. "We achieved the post-COVID activity level according to results of the last forum. We had more than 17,000 participants from 130 countries. Certainly, we expect the number of attendees will grow in the next year and we are ready to that," he added.
